I went to the Art Center in Pasadena with Nate for classes one day and the professor asked me (even though I was merely a visitor hanging out and had nothing to do with the school itself), "Hillary, what does it mean to read?" I said, "Uh, to process and understand the words of which you are viewing..." His response was, "No, it means to read out loud in your head."

Your teacher sounds like my four year old! She asks questions like that all the time!
