Contest of the Day

Name one thing the government does better than the private sector. I'll accept nominations throughout the day and will award a drawing of anyone's choosing to someone who can name one thing. Here are some great-working things to get you started:
  • The post office
  • The DMV
  • Medicare
  • Social security
  • Public education
  • Amtrack

The government taxes better than the private sector. Or would that be worse?

They do better at paid holidays if you are an employee. They award days like "Columbus Day" as a paid holiday.

But I suppose that would fall under Kris's nomination for taxes.

Not true. Have you bought a bag of beef jerky lately? It's like $5 for like 4 pieces. And they're not even that chewy. I think the mark-up is for 'good beef jerky tax' assessed by the national association of beef jerky growers of America corporation.

I think the government does NOTHING better than anyone else. Specifically Obama says nothing better than anyone else.

Did I win?

'fraid not Shannon. Soon the government will be controlling more of our lives than we will be able to bare. They will probably implement Sheryl Crow's suggestion to only allow one square of toilet paper in an effort to force us all into going green to curb global warming. Mind you, there have been three ice ages and two other global warmings before this because the earth goes in cycles, but who needs science when you can have celebrities and the government telling you how to live?

You know Hillary, I ALMOST said what you said word for word. And then I decided it was easier to write nothing.

Christian,
I know I'm entering this contest a little late, but the government lies better than the private sector. Did I win?

Obama would look better pregnant than I do.
